Fallimento, the word for bankruptcy in Italian, is a series in homage to the Italian futurist painter, Giacomo Balla, taking its name from a pointillist work contrived by the artist in 1902.

La Joliette is a popular business district in Marseille, France, located at the mouth of the port. The shops in these watercolors lie in a run-down district behind this area of bustling activity called Les Crottes, the French word for ‘droppings’. Inevitably drawn towards such broken, forgotten corners, Segard pursues to reverentially document the entrances to unfunctional stores in an attempt to record their fading existence while making them revel in their decadence.
